There's something beautiful about being able to feel rainbows on cloudy days. To know a heart still palpitates with a blue liquid life while resting inside the pot by one pole. But not everyone can see the midnight blue hue of the vibrance within a heart, instead most see just a mask of mundane, maroon mush, nothing alluring lively and lush. No rush, what cannot be seen immediately can only be experienced in time by those with the curiosity, capacity and courage to climb steps highlighted in imaginary spectrums.

Take a swerve, then cruise across the curve- with enough nerve one will discover the purpose I serve.

ran down this dark road I was unsure of, but I'd been down ages before.
kept running and wasn't thinking, dark yet safe

safe and out of sight,
I slowed down.

looked down and saw a snail ahead.
passed it up and was determined to leave it behind to reach my destination

the path was barricaded with fences and construction signs
still proceeded and over hurdle-hopped

then the lane came to a drop.
I had wasted all that time trying to take the shortcut escape where no one could follow me...

yet the lane was no longer connected.
now just an old deconstructed walkway...

so close, yet such horrible timing
sighed, eyes turned down and retraced my steps

and I saw him again, the snail, locked in place
I made it back the original way where I would be rediscovered...

every day en route home, through the window, I glance over my right..
to see the newly constructed bridge replacing the walkway from my childhood

and I often wonder. what if I had walked that bridge that one time...

out of sight, out of mind.
i can stop wondering now, I'm walking that bridge forevermore.
